Adopting Through Private Agencies

Additional options for adoption in the Granite State.

In addition to adopting through NH DCYF, there are several agencies throughout the state that are licensed to do private adoptions, both domestic and international.  You can find a list of these agencies with more information about each of them here.

The Dave Thomas Foundation

On a mission to increase the number of children adopted from foster care.

The foundation's story began in 1990 when Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy’s, accepted President George H.W. Bush’s invitation to be the spokesperson for a national adoption awareness campaign. However, Dave knew he could do more. In 1992, he established the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption as a national nonprofit public charity with one primary goal: to help every child in foster care find a loving, permanent family. You can find out more about this foundation, it's history, mission, and programs like Wendy's Wonderful Kids here.

AdoptUSKids

AdoptUSKids educates families about foster care and adoption and gives child welfare professionals information and support to help them improve their services. They also maintain the nation’s only federally funded photolisting service that connects waiting children with families.

National Adoption Center

Expanding adoption opportunities for children living in foster care throughout the United States.

A 45-year-old organization that works to create families for children living in foster care, partnering with media to bring awareness to adoption through foster care, and working with both public and private agencies to expand adoption opportunities for children in their custody.

The NAC also manages the site AdoptSpeak - where those interested in adoption meet, chat and exchange ideas and information.
