Jason

Fifteen-year-old Jason is a thoughtful and gentle young man who communicates in his own unique way. While he can be quiet, Jason effectively expresses himself through the use of a communication device, which helps him share his thoughts and connect with those around him.

Jason enjoys a variety of simple pleasures that bring him happiness. He loves watching movies, especially favorites like Toy Story and Up. He also enjoys playing basketball and spending time relaxing with a good movie. When it comes to food, Jason’s favorites include ice cream, macaroni and cheese, and chicken nuggets—comfort foods that he looks forward to.

Jason thrives in a structured environment where his days are predictable and organized. Clear routines and a tidy, uncluttered space help him feel comfortable and confident. He especially enjoys knowing what the day will bring and takes great pride in being able to help with activities or assist others whenever possible. One of the ways Jason contributes to his community is by volunteering each week with Meals on Wheels, an activity that allows him to feel purposeful and connected.

Family relationships are very important to Jason. He enjoys visiting with his grandparents, and that bond continues to be a meaningful part of his life. Jason also maintains contact with his siblings, which helps him stay connected to his family network.

Jason would thrive in a loving and dedicated family who can provide patience, understanding, and consistent support for a young adolescent with special needs. As he grows and begins preparing for adulthood and adult services, Jason will benefit from caregivers who can help advocate for him, support his communication, and guide him in developing the skills he will need for the future. With the right family, Jason has the opportunity to continue growing, contributing, and experiencing the stability and care every young person deserves.
